Kita semua pernah mendengar tentang pebisnis yang tangguh dan tidak suka basa-basi yang sangat sukses meskipun mereka terang-terangan mengabaikan semua orang. Ya, itu memang terjadi, tetapi itu adalah pengecualian yang langka. Dan meskipun orang itu mungkin memiliki tingkat keberhasilan dalam bisnis, ada lebih banyak hal dalam hidup daripada itu.
Mencoba untuk berhasil dalam hidup tanpa kebaikan itu seperti berlari dalam perlombaan dengan kaki terikat. Itu bisa dilakukan, tetapi itu membuat kita sangat dirugikan sejak awal, dan siapa yang mau melakukannya? Kebaikan tidak berarti kita harus membiarkan orang lain memanfaatkan kita. Kebaikan tidak berarti kita harus memanjakan atau permisif.
Faktanya, sering kali hal terbaik yang dapat kita lakukan adalah bersikap tegas kepada seseorang, karena peduli terhadap kesejahteraan mereka. Seperti dalam ungkapan, “Teman tidak membiarkan teman mengemudi dalam keadaan mabuk”. Kebaikan adalah kekuatan dan kepercayaan diri.
Kebaikan dan rasa hormat yang kita berikan akan kembali kepada kita, berlipat ganda. Hal terbaik yang dapat kita lakukan untuk diri sendiri adalah menunjukkan kebaikan yang tulus dan sejati kepada orang lain. Bismilah..
