Masa lalu telah lewat dan berakhir. Sudah selesai. Jaman, dimana kita masih ABG (Anak Baru Gede), masih SMA atau kuliah. Ia telah membawa kita kemana kita berada sekarang, saat ini. Dan kita dapat belajar banyak dari hal itu.
Kita bahkan selalu dapat membawa pengalaman kita itu. Namun, kita tidak bisa melompat kembali, masuk ke masa-masa indah di jaman itu. Dan kita tidak dapat menghidupkan kembali masa lalu kita itu ke masa depan kita.
Kita dapat melakukan sesuatu yang jauh, bahkan jauh lebih baik dari masa lalu yang telah dilewati. Selanjutnya, kita dapat membuat hidup kita mulai dari titik ini yang terbaik.
Apakah kita merindukan masa lalu atau kita menyesal setiap menitnya? Pada kenyataannya adalah bahwa hal itu wajar saja, namun sudah berakhir. Itu berarti kita dapat mengambil ‘nilai semangat’ dari masa lalu, apa pun yang kita ingin ambil, lalu bergeraklah maju, bukan mundur kembali kebelakang.
Hari ini adalah hari yang baru dengan kemungkinan-kemungkinan baru, bahkan lebih daripada hari yang kita pernah kenal di masa lalu. Hari ini adalah kesempatan terbaik kita, di sini dan sekarang, nyata dan siap dijalankan.
Jika kita berpikir bahwa kita sudah terlalu tua, terlalu terlambat atau terlalu ini dan terlalu itu, maka kita benar-benar salah. Sangat keliru kita memandang dan memahaminya.
Kita tepat berada di tempat yang tepat, pada waktu yang tepat, untuk membuatnya menjadi nyata, perbedaan positif dalam hidup kita dan dunia di sekitar kita. Bangkitlah, dan raih kesempatan besar itu. Ia ada di depan mata kita.
Hari ini adalah kesempatan terbaik kita, dan siapa pun bisa membayangkan, karena apa yang kita lakukan saat ini benar-benar terserah pada kita. Lalu, buatlah hari ini menjadi hari terbaik yang pernah kita lakukan. Dengan kesungguhan dan dengan cinta.
